The Lorex Live view had a lot of bugs when it first came out that have more or less been resolved, however, there are still a few issues that may crop up. Below, we will go through some of the fixes I have gone through when debugging this issue and give you some troubleshooting tips.
Use these steps to fix the Lorex live view not working.
Step 1: Restart your Lorex system
Step 2: Restart the router
Step 3: If you have a static IP address, it’s possible that your IP address was changed by your Internet Service Provider. Log back into System Info and make sure your current IP address matches the one listed on the screen.
Step 4: Check the status of your system using the Lorex Auto Port Forwarding (LAPF) Tool. (1)
Step 5: Update the firmware on your Lorex system and make sure all software on your computer is up to date.
Check for Internet Connection
The first thing you will need to do is make sure that your internet connection is working properly. You can check this by doing a speed test on your device or by using an online tool such as Speedtest.net.
If there are any problems with your internet connection, then try restarting your modem and router before proceeding further with this guide. (2)
Restart Your Lorex System
If you are experiencing issues with the live view of your Lorex system, you can try fixing it by restarting your Lorex system.
Note: Before restarting your Lorex system, you must remove the battery from all wireless cameras for at least 10 seconds.
Steps to follow:
- Unplug the power cable from the back of the DVR/NVR and wait for one minute.
- Plugin the power cable, and turn on your DVR/NVR.
- Wait for about one minute for the DVR/NVR to boot up.
Does this fix solve your problem? If yes, then no need to go further and if not, try the next fix i.e., restarting the router.
Restart the Router
If your internet connection is not working well, then you can also face the Lorex Live View Not Working issue. So, restart your router and check if the issue is fixed or not.
Steps to follow:
- First, take out the power cord from the backside of the router and wait for a few seconds.
- Now, plugin that power cord again and wait until the power lights get stable. And then turn on your router.
- Now, wait for a few minutes to establish a proper connection between devices.
Problems Due to a Static IP Address
If you have a static IP address, it’s possible that your IP address was changed by your Internet Service Provider. Log back into System Info and make sure your current IP address matches the one listed on the screen.
Check the Status of Your System
Check the status of your system using the Lorex Auto Port Forwarding (LAPF) Tool, which can be downloaded from their website.
Update Your System
You should also ensure that all software on your computer is up to date, including the firmware on your Lorex system. To update it, go into the settings menu and select “update” from there. If there are any updates available for download, click “Update”.
Reset the Lorex Camera
You should also check if resetting your Lorex camera will help you fix the issue. To do so, press and hold down the reset button on your camera for at least 15 seconds. After doing so, wait for a few minutes and then try to access the live view again. If it still doesn’t work, move on to the next solution.
Change the Default Login Credentials of Your Camera
It’s possible that someone has entered into your network and made changes to your settings. The best way to prevent this is by changing your default login credentials for Lorex cameras.
Check for Any Hardware Issues
Another possible reason behind Lorex live view not working, is hardware issues such as loose wires or bad video cables. To resolve this issue, you should check all these connections.
